Last year, Procter & Gamble ignited the My Black Is Beautiful (MBIB) movement with the launch of their new initiative, Imagine a Future, to impact the lives of one million black girls over three years. My Black Is Beautiful teamed up with community-based organization, BLACK GIRLS ROCK! and national educational leader, UNCF, to bring this initiative to life by providing purpose-inspired solutions that support young black girls in being their best and most beautiful selves. Imagine a Future follows the story of Delaware teen Janet Goldsboro as she travels to South Africa to examine both historical and contemporary beauty and self-esteem challenges faced by so many black women and girls. Complementing Janet’s journey of self-discovery are interviews with renowned media personalities such as Mikki Taylor, Gabourey Sidibe, Michaela Angela Davis, Tatyana Ali, Gabrielle Douglas, and Melissa Harris-Perry. These exclusive stories provide intimate perspectives on black beauty, self-esteem, and confidence.
