Rachel Rodriguez is a writer and producer for CNN iReport, the network's global participatory news community. In this role, she is responsible for editing personal essays and opinion pieces submitted from around the world to CNN.com. Based at CNN’s global headquarters in Atlanta, Rodriguez reports to Katie Hawkins-Gaar, senior producer for CNN iReport.

Since joining CNN in 2008, Rodriguez has been an integral part of delivering news to CNN’s audience, varying from the historic 2008 Presidential Election to the same-sex marriage debate. She was part of the team recognized for the Knight News Innovation EPpy Award for finding new ways to gather and disseminate news and information with iReport’s Haiti: The Missing & the Found database in 2010. She also contributed to CNN’s Peabody Award-winning coverage of the Gulf Coast oil spill.

Prior to CNN, Rodriguez earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a certificate in information science from Duke University. She also served as online editor of her school newspaper.
