Jenee Darden is an award-winning journalist from Oakland, Calif. She hosts the podcast and blog CocoaFly.com—a new flavor in news for women. Jenee covers an array of topics on Cocoa Fly,from dating to social justice issues. Cocoa Fly features Jenee’s insightful thesis “Under the Covers: The Popularity and Debate Over Black Erotic Literature.”

Jenee blends her passion for media and mental health at the nonprofit PEERS, a mental-health advocacy organization. There she hosts Mental Health & Wellness Radio, an uplifting podcast about mental health that can be heard on www.peersnet.org/radio or iTunes. She is also a television producer for their cable show Mental Health Matters.

Jenee Darden has reported for NPR, Time magazine, Huffington PostMarketplace,Teaching Tolerance magazine and The Root. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern California and BA in ethnic studies from UC San Diego. Jenee is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
