Trinidadian writer @Patrice Grell Yursik  created Afrobella.com to celebrate the unique beauty of women. Her blog was one of the first to celebrate natural hair and all the skin tones and sizes women come in, and she has been affectionately dubbed the “Godmother of Brown Beauty Blogging.” Afrobella features honest product reviews and takes the reader inside unique beauty, fashion and cultural experiences. Patrice has done campaigns for Urban Decay and Lancôme, and Afrobella has been featured in Essence, Allure, Glamour and Fast Company. In 2011 Afrobella partnered with MAC Cosmetics to create the “All Of My Purple Life” lipglass — it sold out in a week. Afrobella was listed in Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 of 2011, and is in the Black Weblog Awards Hall of Fame. Patrice has become a sought after public speaker, and has shared her wisdom at conferences including Blogging While Brown, Blogalicious conference, TEDx 2012 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and at Blogworld’s New Media Expo in Las Vegas. She currently resides in downtown Chicago with her husband Steve and their cat Max.
