#CommunityJam Session ~ The Ripple Effect of Blogger Professionalism: How and Why to Maintain Professionalism in Blogging That Extends Way Beyond Your Personal Blog
Let’s face it: the times, they have a’changed. Gone are the days of naivete when we could say and do whatever we wanted on our blogs (and elsewhere) without worrying about the consequences. In this age of blogger empire-building, we need to be aware of our actions and reputations more than ever; each post, campaign, conversation and interaction can impact our business relationships for better or worse. The key to success is being professional every step of the way. In our BlogaliciousFIVE #CommunityJam Session these powerhouse players will engage in an open and honest conversation about: best practices of how PR agencies like to work with bloggers when a misstep happens how to handle others who aren’t respectful of your professional work how bloggers’ behavior can impact conference involvement by brands how to build a reputation that is “brand safe”

Digital Storytelling: The Next Wave of Brand-Blogger Relationships ~ General Session
Talk to any blogger or any brand rep and you’ll find that we are all generally tired of the same old pitches, product reviews and giveaway posts that we’ve all become so used to. Creating content that is original, compelling and creative takes a collaborative effort on both sides. This panel will cover how to capture, archive and share your story; what types of expectations both sides should have going into such a relationship; different types of content that can come out of it; how bloggers can extend these relationships beyond the execution; and the role of the publicist in navigating the campaign.

Before You Make the Leap: Blogging Your Passion While Working a 9-to-5
Many of us bloggers are growing our media empires “on the side” – working a day job while also working our blogs part-time. The common thinking is to covet the full-time blogging career, but finding ways to use your blogging and social media skills in the workplace can be just the right boost to your career or help transition to blogging full-time (if that’s what you want!). For those interested in climbing the corporate ladder or adding to their work experience, finding opportunities to use your blogging skills can lead to working on cross-functional teams, greater visibility in your work organization, adding some security to your current position, transitioning to a new role, or ultimately a promotion. And for those working towards the goal of becoming a “full-time” blogger, we’ll discuss how to maintain a balance between both workloads, streamlining goals and laying the foundation for making the career leap.

How to "Lean In" to Your Business Without Sacrificing Your Relationships or Family
There’s been a lot of buzz about Sheryl Sandberg’s book, Lean In. In the book , she deals with the lack of women in positions of leadership in business and across the board. In this workshop, we plan to teach women to how to lean into their business without sacrificing their relationships or their families. Many of us want the business and the family, but too few people are teaching how to navigate this successfully. We hope to teach participants how to: 1. Define what success looks like for their business and their family. 2. Create a support network for their success in both. 3. Set parameters/boundaries around business and family 4. Discuss expectations and how to manage them on a regular basis and renegotiate them when needed. 5. Create a plan of preparation/ prevention versus recovery / rescue for their business and family.

FUND Track Keynote :: Elisa Camahort-Page, COO, BlogHer
Elisa and the BlogHer women have been mentors to Blogalicious since its inception (even before!). They’ve paved the way as builders of a community-based brand that’s a force to be reckoned with. And they’ve made smart decisions along the way about how to grow and fund it. We are so looking forward to hearing about funding options from Elisa, who understands our space intimately and has a track record of inspiring success.

Funding Your Dream: What to know, who to know, and perhaps most importantly: What NOT to do

Entrepreneurs come in many forms. Solopreneurs, small business owners, start-up founders. College drop-outs and PhDs. Tech, business, and liberal arts backgrounds alike. When most people think about getting "funding", venture capital (or VC) companies spring to mind. Today, though, the venture world's Series A, B, and C have these alphabetical alternatives: Angel, Bootstrapping, and Crowdfunding. There are many winding roads you may travel as an entrepreneur. Learn about new ways to fund and launch companies, and how the rest of us, without billion-dollar valuations, get the job done.

#DearBlogalicious Presentation

We’re celebrating this 5 year anniversary with some good old fashioned love letters and we would love to hear from you!

Blogalicious celebrates and empowers the multicultural blogger, growing a community that celebrates digital diversity and serves as a supportive platform for all of our successes. Have you made a great brand connection at Blogalicious? We want to hear about it! Collaborated with amazing bloggers you’ve met at the conference? Tell us how! Met life-long friends who are committed to helping you reach your goals? We have too! That’s just a few reasons why we love this community.

#DearBlogalicious is your chance to show the world why Blogalicious is important to us. Whether through blog posts, emails, tweets or Instagram, we’ll be curating your love letters to highlight in a video stream at the conference. Simply use the #DearBlogalicious hashtag or email your posts to:
dearblogalicious (at ) gmail.com to submit your love letters.

Videos and photos are welcome, too! In fact, keep an eye out for the #DearBlogalicious Love Letter Photo Booth during the conference where we’ll be sending “sweet nothings” to the amazing community that helps many of us succeed.
