Jeneé Darden is an award-winning journalist, public speaker, mental health advocate, and proud Oakland native. She is the author of When a Purple Rose Blooms, a collection of essays and poetry about her experience as a Black woman. Jeneé has reported for NPR, Time, Ebony, the Los Angeles Times, KPCC, KALW, and other outlets. Jeneé covers issues related to women, race, and wellness on her website and podcast Cocoa Fly. Currently, she is pitching a book about Black sexuality.
