Founding Editor-in-Chief MamásLatinas.com, Chief Content Editor MiBlogazine.com, Multi-Media Lifestyle Expert and Brand Ambassador

Johanna Torres is an experienced multi-media Editor, journalist and producer with over 21 years in the U.S. Hispanic media market. Her commitment to empowering the Hispanic woman and her deep understanding of this audience is evident by the high quality of the work that she has produced over the years. In fact, in 2011, she helped launch CafeMom’s bilingual website MamásLatinas, the leading online destination for Latinas in the US with 1.5 million unique US visitors, and has been proudly serving as its Founding Editor-in-Chief of a first class editorial team based in NYC. Not only has Johanna been able to connect with and serve the US Latina audience through this digital space and as regular contributor for TV outlets such as Telemundo, CNN en Español and Univision, among others, but she has done so as well as the hostess for CafeMom Studios' YouTube series '¡Oye! with Johanna Torres' and for other video series produced by the company.

With the launch in January of 2010 of MI BLOGAZINE (www.miblogazine.com), a Spanish blog created by Johanna specifically as a tool to inspire the Hispanic woman with a daily dose of good ideas, the concept of Latina empowerment took on a new shape. Through this platform she was able to partner up with media outlets such as Telemundo and AOL Latino while serving leading brands such as L’Oréal and Ford, and developed a regular weekly collaboration with CNN en Español’s NotiMujer.

Johanna’s work as a lifestyle expert with emphasis in areas of interest to the US Hispanic woman (family, home, food, beauty, etc.) has allowed her to focus on clients who seek to the influence this “it” consumer of today. She specializes in advising clients on emotional branding to this market and creating content that can be effectively used across multiple media platforms.

As Founding Editor of Meredith Corporation's SIEMPRE MUJER magazine, Johanna took the editorial mission to new levels by generating relevant content that could easily translate between the printed page, video and internet seamlessly, and affording her the ability to reach her audience through multiple formats. A frequent guest on TV and radio, an occasional segment host for Meredith's BETTER.TV and PARENTS.TV, Johanna also co-produced and hosted lifestyle podcasts and videos, and led the effort to launch and maintain Charlablog, the magazine's daily blog. She was responsible for building the brand via a wide range of cross platforms and helped make of SIEMPRE MUJER one of today's top three magazines in the U.S. Hispanic market.

Johanna’s experience includes more than 10 years at Ser Padres, the first national parenting magazine in Spanish. During her tenure there she was integral in the launch and redesign of Ser Padres and was promoted to Editor-in-Chief in 1999. Johanna also served as Executive Editor of Disney en Familia magazine, consulting Editor-in-Chief of Lamaze and contributed to Latina in its early days as a consultant and writer.

Her career began while studying Journalism at Boston University, when Johanna worked in television production for WCVB-TV, an ABC affiliate, as she helped create an award winning bilingual community program. At the time, her written and photographic work was also being published in the Northeast U.S. Edition of Imagen magazine, a Casiano Communications Spanish language publication.

She appears regularly on Hispanic TV outlets including Univision, Telemundo, VE-ME, TV Azteca and America TeVe. Johanna has also worked as talent for parenting videos and a voice-over artist for radio commercials.

Johanna has served on the Media Advisory Board for the March of Dimes. She is the proud mother of three children, ages 19, 17 and 11, and resides in New York.
